What you can expect from our palliative and end-of-life care:
Advanced palliative and
end-of-life care
Residents with advanced or terminal health conditions often require 24-hour palliative or end-of-life care, which includes personal care, continence care, pain and medication management. Our palliative care teams offer emotional support to palliative residents and their families, ensuring there is always someone to talk to. In our care, you can expect the highest standards of comfort in a clean, homely and positive environment.
Symptom and pain management
Professionally managed pain control is central to palliative care. Our experienced care professionals are trained to observe early signs of symptoms, including changes in residents’ moods and behaviours. By monitoring closely, we can identify when a resident is unwell and act to prevent the situation from worsening.
Supervised medication management
Administering palliative medicine is a highly controlled and supervised process at all our care homes in Surrey and West Sussex. Managed by professional care teams, residents can expect reliable and safe medication management tailored to individual needs. We understand palliative medicine and its associated risks and continuously monitor residents to ensure their safety and well-being.
Continued emotional and
family support
Our palliative and end-of-life care services in Surrey and West Sussex ensure residents feel safe, comfortable and valued at all times. We provide ongoing emotional support to residents and associated family members; everyone involved is regularly informed about the resident’s condition and what to expect over the following weeks or months. Our palliative nurses and carers understand how painful it is for family members to visit loved ones in palliative care.
Respecting residents' Civil Rights
Maintain your individuality and personal freedom.
No rigid routines - live life at a pace that feels right for you.
At our family-run care homes, we are committed to upholding the rights and freedoms of all residents.
Moving into residential care should never mean giving up your independence; we actively support your ability to make choices in all aspects of daily life.
From deciding when and where to enjoy your meals, to accessing community and healthcare services, or exercising your right to vote, residents in our homes live life on their own terms.
We respect and support all individuals, regardless of their personal beliefs or opinions, and are dedicated to maintaining a safe, inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
Permanent care teams in every home
We do not employ agency staff.
No Agency Staff – residents see the same friendly faces daily.
Each of our care homes has a dedicated, permanent care team that residents can get to know and rely on. Every resident is assigned a personal carer who is responsible for their care needs and well-being, ensuring that no one ever goes without the attention they need. We work closely with our residents to build trusting relationships that help them feel comfortable, safe and supported in our care.
Each member of staff undergoes a thorough screening process.
All Medicrest staff members undergo a thorough screening process, including an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check and detailed professional and character references. New employees complete a three-month probation period and receive bi-monthly clinical supervision. Long-standing staff receive annual performance appraisals, but the most valuable feedback comes directly from our residents and their families.
